Plate belonging to Focke-Wulf 190 F-3 WNr. 670 035 (Steve Polyak)

The bottom plate shows the aircraft Werknummer, while the top plate is probably a component part, possibly from the same FW 190. This aircraft was found by the Allies at Sciacca in Sicily in July 1943. They noted that it had a BMW 801 D engine, and was marked '<< + '. Thus it was likely the aircraft flown by the Gruppenkommandeur of either I./Sch.G. 2 or II./Sch.G. 2. Please see our Focke-Wulf Fw 190 in the Battle for Sicily book for more details on those units.
