Focke-Wulf 190 A-4 W.Nr 0140 617 (S. Polyak)

The aircraft that this plate belonged to was an FW 190 A-4 built by Focke-Wulf at Bremen in July 1942. W.Nr 0140 617 was slightly damaged in May 1943 with II./J.G. 1. It was then repaired and returned to combat with I./J.G. 26. With the latter unit, the aircraft became 'White 5 + ', and it was shot down by Typhoons on 7 October 1943. The pilot, Lt. Johannes Matthiesen, was killed. Thanks to Steve Polyak for the photo.
